Video Games

Video games

1.Have developments in video games been driven by technology or by their users?
Throughout the years, since the technological evolution, video games have advanced along with what it's users learned from the new technologies. In 1972, when the first video game was released nor Internet nor cellphones were available for the public, which means that the technology was not as advanced as it is today of course. However, things have changed, as well as the consumes mind; more kids play games on their iPads and iPhones, which made the producer of video games adapt the new technologies for the users that are logged in almost 24/7 who want new games almost every week since they can crack the game's code easily due to the time they spend playin games. This becomes a challenge to games creators once they have to bring new games, design, and features to the consumers on a monthly basis. They do so by letting the consumers download the latest version; now that every console is connected to the internet, download the latest version is a lot easier. Also many new platforms have been created, increasing competition and giving a larger variety of digital games for the consumers. Sometimes people tend to believe that video games have an artificial intelligence since now we can make audible calls for the game to start.

2. Resolved: Violent games should be banned for children. Debate that.
Many discussions regarding to wether ban or allow violent games to kids have reached no conclusion. However, in my opinion, the censorship exists for a reason, to avoid younger kids to play those games that are more violent for their age. For instance, many Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Games (MMORPGs), such as Call of Duty, have been banned for kids due to its "killing instinctive" that the player must have to succeed in the game. But in reality who has toban the kids from playin those types of games are the parents. The kid does not need to playviolent games since there are many different genres of games in the market. When a kid gets engaged in a game, that game will become the kids virtual reality, which means that what is happening in the game may influence on the kid's or adult's decision on a daily basis.
